Automatic mobilization of the sacroiliac joint - lowering the leg

Goal of the exercise:

  • Mobilization of the sacroiliac joint
Default position
  • Kneel down and place your hands on the ground before you
Phase 1
  • Let the leg which is close to the edge drop down over the edge
  • Place your instep behind the calf of the hanging leg
  • Slightly press the leg downwards, but not too much so that the hips would stay in straight line
  • Don’t sit with your buttocks on your heels
Phase 2

Return to default position
Repeat the exercise on both sides

Common mistakes

  • Pressing the hanging leg down to much, and rotating the hips
  • Sitting with your buttocks on your heels

How often to exercise

  • If you have problems with the sacroiliac joint, loin spine and buttocks then exercise 2-3 times per day, 8 rounds for each leg
