Relaxing the muscles in the area of the ears, lowering pain while chewing, yawning but also migraines etc.

It is an example of physiotherapeutic methods for relieving of the muscles in the area of the ear. You can do this technique at home and help yourself in case you feel pain while chewing or when you are yawning or when you are under stress, if you are under tension or when you grind your teeth.


WHAT IS THE GOAL OF THE EXERCISE:

  • Relaxation of the jaw muscles
  • Increased range of movement when opening mouth
Default position
  • Place yourself on the back
  • Place your hands with your palms into the area of your ears, so that your ear would be in between the middle finger and index finger
  • Firmly press against the skull
  • By circling movements of your hands, shift the skin on your skull
  • There, where you will feel light tension, stop and do the circling movements more intensively

Common mistakes

  • Do not place your fingers arealy to the area, but press only with the tips of your fingers
  • Too big pressure
  • Instead of doing it steadily and slowly, you may do it too fast
